Week 2 of Uni ~ 10th - 14th Mar

Firstly, let me showcase the dinner I cooked on Sunday. Althought it wasn't presentable but its pretty yummy. haha...

Pretty Proud of myself too...

Monday

Had first tutorial in Uni Mel. As expected, most students didn't prepare for tutorial. It was a hot day and my tutorial room didn't have aircon. Wat could be worst is that there's sunlight shining through the window on the top, so there's was natural light in the class room, which also means greenhouse effect. Both tutorial I had was in the same room, it was such a torture...

Went for polo training in the night, I'm so unfit. Both of my legs cramp like 4 times, guess it was due to didn't stretch prior to entering the water. All the players here are pretty big in size, I felt so minute in the water.

Tuesday

Struggle to wake up as my lecture was 9am. Rushed to lecture. It was the first time that the gang agreed to meet for lunch, as the cost of meals are pretty high. Dear CK came up with the idea of cooking on our own but spliting the cost. To kick that off, he volunteered to cook.

CK's creation which looks pretty good. ( I was quite surprise, haha...)

After lunch, I went to post some gifts and I was pretty shock with the price. I sent 4 items and it cost me over AUD $50 (all the amt are quoted in AUD).

In the evening, I went for group discussion meeting. It was a very good sharing... Guess it due to different culture here, everyone are actively participating during the discussion. We went for a drink after the meeting. I got home and decided to book a flight to Gold Coast for $400, 21st to 26th Mar. (Gold Coast, here I come...)

Wednesday

Lectures are pretty boring and I can't concentrate as the weather is just too hot ( Opps, I'm blaming the environment). I got home pretty early as class ended early. I cooked the Zaru Soba which I bought on Sat and had it for lunch.

In the afternoon Karl, Theresa & Lucia (hope I spelled their name correctly) came over to chant for their house hunting struggle. In the evening, Thomas (my housemate) and I headed to the Kaikan for the March 16 (Kosen-rufu Day) song rehearsal. After that we went chill-out and drinking.

Thursday

Morning - I woke up "pretty early" and went to do some grocery shopping. Bought all cheap food; bread, sausages, oranges, plum, broccoli and bananas for less than $10. Had coffee, kaya and butter toast for breakfast (Yummy, the last time I had that was on the day of my flight) before heading to school.

School was pretty pack, as its 3 straight hrs. I challenged my tutor for "Database Concepts" as I think the answer weren't "right". At the end of the lesson, she was nice enough to ask me whether I'm ok. Think I'm creating too much trouble here, but the module is pretty basic, just like what I did in Singapore Poly. But I must not be complacent and must definitely do well for it.
Headed to PeterPan (an agent which is meant for backpackers) to book my Gold Coast activities.
Activities in Gold Coast:

1) 2 day tour in Moreton Island (http://www.moreton-island.com/) which includes:

  • Sand Boarding

  • Snorkeling

  • Body Boarding and Body Surfing

  • Bush food

2) Surfing lesson (2 hrs)

All this at a cost of $350 with accommodation. I feel that its pretty worth it and its way cheaper than my initial plans of heading up to Cairns.

After booking the trip, I rushed to Kaikan for song rehearsal and Facilitators' training. I called my mum when I reached home to discuss about my $$$ re-enforcement, but the exchange rate is still pretty bad...

Friday

Today, woke up earlier to go to school as I need to print lecture notes and tutorials for next week. I also did something I would not do back home, I actually went to the library to borrow textbook and compare the pages between the different editions, as I bought the older edition to Mel , for my tutorials questions. Only had an hour lecture, and headed home to cook lunch with CK. This time we cooked beef, broccoli and potatoes; something different, more western. It was a good lunch. Thumbs up... (forgot to take pics, as we are too hungry, haha :) )

The entire day will be super hot, forecast to be a high of 40 degrees... Now as I'm typing, my Google weather sidebar indicates 38 degrees and I'm sweating in my room ...

Will be heading to another group discussion later , Thomas and I will be sharing on the Gosho "Letter to the brothers". Its pretty relax here and the experience I had for the last discussion was a lot of Buddhist concepts being discussed which is my interest as I really feel that I'm learning and growing.

Happenings over the weekend:

It will be pretty busy as we are in the final phrase of rehearsal for March 16, so Sat will be morning till late afternoon and Sunday;the actual thing. This also means that I'm unable to make it for the Australia F1 race @ Albert Park. Haiz...

That's all for my updates.

Let's struggle happily and joyfully. ;)
