Bought gifts for the family as we really feel paiseh staying at uncle's place, driving us around and all the treats. They are very happy when they open the gifts we have bought for them, especially Uncle.
When I got back, I wrote to uncle. As follows:
Hi Uncle Horiuchi,
We touched down safely yesterday at 5.20pm Osaka time. And it is very hot in Singapore, 32 degrees. Haha...
Thanks for your kind hospitality over the past 1 week in Osaka. Mummy and I really enjoyed our stay with you, and sorry about all the trouble we have caused to you and auntie. Thank you for bringing us around and share with me so much about life in Japan. The level of culture exchange is a truly amazing experience for me, rather than just a plain normal holiday/shopping trip. I had spent 5 mths in Melbourne to experience what I have experienced with you in a short span of 7 days, understanding Japanese culture, lifestyle, and able to "live" your life (joining you for swimming classes, visiting your mother and brother, cycling around the city to gym and back home), etc. This experience and memories of this trip will always be kept close to my heart, and I'm sure that it is way beyond what money can exchange for.
I felt very fortunate that daddy has a buddy like you and I'm able to know you through him. Thou daddy has left us for 21yrs already, yet I'm able to know more about him through talks with you. I am truly grateful and would hope that the entire family is able to visit you in the near future.
My heartfelt gratitude towards you and your family is beyond words and will be always kept close to my heart.
Please take care and keep in touch.
Best Regards,
YanGuang
Also just found out that the 2 t-shirt that auntie bought for me cost SGD $150, faint... One of them actually cost SGD $105, its my most expensive t-shirt ever.
Heartfelt gratitude towards Uncle Horiuchi and Family.
